Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Chad Houchin, a licensed clinical psychologist based in Colorado Springs. I have approximately 10 years of experience in comprehensive psychological testing and assessment, and I work providing these evaluations to those seeking diagnoses, and to recommend resources and next steps. I look forward to getting to know you so I can help guide you toward a more vibrant and authentic life. Often individuals with undiagnosed neurodiverse conditions have been misunderstood in their lives. Many adults come to this process after years of adapting, masking, or feeling different without having the language to explain why. I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves, and feel seen and acknowledged in a way that honors your experiences and strengths, and also discover your creativeness and personal styles of resilience. I offer a supportive, validating space where you can explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and thereby gain clarity and make sense of your story. My approach is collaborative and analytic, but also empathetic. I will move through this process with you with curiosity, compassion, and respect, and a commitment to honoring your lived experience. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood and empowered to move forward with clarity, self-acceptance, and self-trust.

Hello and welcome.I'm so glad you're here. For the past three years, I've had the honor of working as a mental health professional, but my path to this work is a bit unique. Before this, I spent years as an elementary school teacher, where I learned the importance of patience, connection, and creating a supportive environment. My journey also led me to become a yoga instructor and a mindfulness coach, training that deeply influences my belief in the powerful connection between our minds and bodies. In my practice, I blend a variety of therapeutic approaches to create a personalized experience for each client. I'm trained in EMDR, CBT, and DBT, and I also have experience with Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and somatic therapy, which focuses on the body's role in healing. As someone who lives and works in rural Colorado, I'm licensed to serve clients throughout our beautiful state. My goal is to provide a safe, kind, and compassionate space for everyone, and this means offering care that best meets your needs. I believe in a collaborative approach—you are the expert on your own life. Together, we'll work to help you feel empowered, build confidence, and create a life that feels authentic and worth living. I'm excited to embark on this journey with you.
