About
Hey there! My name is Faith (she/her) and I am in Fort Collins, Colorado with my clinical social work license and addictions counselor license (LCSW and LAC). I have a wide variety of experience which includes being in a hospital setting, foster care and the Colorado Department of Human Services, and in community based mental health services in Northern Colorado. I want to offer a safe, calming space where you can show up and be your true, authentic self. I offer a balance of comfort and solutions, and like to provide an empathetic, nonjudgemental, person-centered approach where you are able to drive the treatment. I want to provide resources for your tool kit so you are empowered to take control of your situation. Together, we can build confidence, self-compassion, self-understanding, clarify values, strengthen interpersonal relationships, process trauma, support healing, explore identity, laugh, love, cry, and learn what it means to be a human.
Working in community mental health has taught me very valuable lessons about health care privilege; there is a large data gap of clients who are either un-diagnosed or get a late diagnosis of ADHD (inattentive, hyperactive, or both) and ASD. I have been working hard on identifying barriers to care and eliminating them or overcoming these obstacles. This can be a life-changing explanation for anyone who feels different from their peers and can allow you to re-interpret life from a completely different perspective. I have witnessed first-hand how neurodivergent adults are transformed into a new, confident version of themselves upon receiving the proper diagnosis, medication and treatment. My hope is to identify your strengths and help develop skills that will improve executive functioning and emotional regulation at work, school, home, interpersonal-relationships, and in every day life. I want to offer a space where you feel seen, validated, and understood.
You are the expert of you! I want to prioritize a person-centered and strengths-based approach by acknowledging that each client sees the world differently depending on their background, upbringing, experiences, and genetics. I want to work collaboratively with you to identify and strengthen your skills, talents and resources that will support your personal goals. I hope that you are able to celebrate your neurodivergence and have faith (yes pun intended) that you will discover a life worth living! I continue to learn and grow in my own mental wellness journey every day and would love to support you in yours.
