About
Hello! I'm Dr. Katelyn Cooper, but most of my clients call me Katelyn. I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado, but currently living in North Carolina. My first priority is always making sure you feel safe, heard, and seen as you are. Authenticity, connection, and warmth are things I strive to bring to every session. We will work to identify whether ASD might best describe your experience as a human. Regardless of whether or not you get diagnosed, I will make sure you leave with some sense of clarity and direction.
It is an honor to be able to help people on their journey towards better understanding themselves. I love it when people finally feel seen and understood, sometimes the first time in their life, and I am so grateful to be able to facilitate those moments. My goals are to understand your challenges and help you successfully navigate them, identify and build on strengths, and provide skills that will aid you throughout your life and relationships.
I always prioritize an individualized approach to diagnosis, with a focus on your strengths and skills. I recognize that neurodiversity is simply a different way of engaging with the world and is not itself a deficit or disability. With this mindset, I aim to help you better understand your ways of functioning, including your strengths and successes, and continue to build on this and learn new skills so you can live the life you dream of. Making sure you feel seen and safe is my number one priority, and you can trust I will always show up authentically as well.
