I live in the Metro Detroit area and am also a professor of clinical psychology, psychological assessor, researcher, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. At the heart of all of my work is a genuine curiosity about people and the experiences that shape who they are.

I believe psychological assessment can be about much more than receiving a diagnosis. It can provide language for experiences you may have struggled to explain, help you recognize patterns that have existed throughout your life, and offer a deeper understanding of yourself. My goal is to create an assessment experience where you feel comfortable being yourself, asking questions, and sharing your experiences without feeling judged or pressured to fit into someone else’s expectations of what autism is supposed to look like.

I'm passionate about creating a warm, compassionate space where you can feel seen and heard, and understood for who you really are. My goal is to collaborate with you to identify and highlight your strengths, and to support you and encourage you as you begin to work through any challenges you may be experiencing. I've had the chance in my career to work with children, adolescents, and a variety of adult clients, including neurodivergent clients. I've practiced in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, and I bring many years of experience working with diverse clients.

Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer Vanasse. I am a clinical and school psychologist with 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I am licensed in Illinois and credentialed through PSYPACT, which allows me to provide telehealth services across more than 40 participating states. Throughout my career, I have worked in private practice, schools, and residential settings, providing psychological and educational evaluations, therapy, and consultation. Having worked with individuals across the lifespan, I have developed a broader understanding of how experiences in various stages of life shape a person. I find evaluations valuable because they provide an opportunity to step back, look at the bigger picture, and consider the factors that have influenced how a person approaches different aspects of their life.
