About

Hello and Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I'm Dr. Allyson Havill, and I'm a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and Pennsylvania. I'm passionate about creating a warm, compassionate space where you can feel seen and heard, and understood for who you really are. My goal is to collaborate with you to identify and highlight your strengths, and to support you and encourage you as you begin to work through any challenges you may be experiencing. I've had the chance in my career to work with children, adolescents, and a variety of adult clients, including neurodivergent clients. I've practiced in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, and I bring many years of experience working with diverse clients.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I first became interested in working with neurodivergent clients early in my career. Before I was a psychologist, I was a registered nurse, and some of the clients I took care of and worked with were autistic children. I developed a deep compassion for them as I witnessed some of their challenges and struggles, as well as a strong respect for the resilience and strengths that I saw many of them display. I have been inspired by their successes, and I consider it a privilege to have been part of their journeys.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

In my practice I focus on understanding you as a unique individual. I was trained as a psychologist to strive to understand each person's lived experience, that is, to understand, as well as I can, what it has been like to walk in your shoes. I actively listen, to allow you to teach me about your experience with that. I'm interested in learning about your abilities, and how they have helped you achieve your successes. As we work together, we can utilize your strengths, and identify skills that you can use to navigate any challenges, as well as to realize your full potential as a person.
