Intro
Hi, I’m Sarah Brown, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in New York, and I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families find healing through the power of their own stories. My approach is rooted in Narrative Therapy, where we work together to explore, challenge, and ultimately rewrite the narratives you’ve carried—often stories shaped by past pain, limiting beliefs, or inherited roles.
I became a therapist because I deeply believe in the power of being seen, heard, and understood. So many of us carry invisible stories—of survival, silence, shame, or strength—that never had a safe place to land. I wanted to be that place for others. What drives me is witnessing the moment a client begins to recognize their own voice again, not the one shaped by trauma, fear, or societal pressure—but their true voice. I’m passionate about Narrative Therapy because I believe we all have the right to reauthor the story of who we are, free from the limitations of who we’ve been told to be. I do this work because I know what it feels like to long for clarity, connection, and meaning—and I’m honored to help others find those things for themselves.
I work from a person-centered foundation, which means I believe in creating a space where you feel deeply seen, respected, and accepted just as you are. You set the pace, and I meet you with empathy, authenticity, and non-judgment. From that grounding, I integrate Narrative Therapy to help you explore and reshape the stories you carry—especially those shaped by pain, pressure, or survival. My role is to walk beside you—offering support, perspective, and tools—so that you can move forward in a way that feels aligned and empowering.
