About

Hello and welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Emily Hanna, and I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in both California and Michigan. I bring a thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative approach to this work, grounded in the belief that self-understanding can be a powerful and healing experience. Whether you're exploring long-standing questions about yourself or looking to better understand patterns in your life, I’m here to offer insight, guidance, and support throughout the process. Every person’s experience is unique, and it’s an honor to help make sense of that experience in a way that affirms your identity and helps you move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University; MSW from the University of Michigan; Bachelors in Honors English from Scripps College
Treatment Approach

I was drawn to this work because of the many individuals I encountered who had spent much of their lives feeling out of sync—with others, with expectations, or even with themselves—without ever having a clear explanation why. Over time, I came to understand how often neurodivergent individuals are overlooked, misinterpreted, or asked to adapt in ways that come at a high personal cost. What motivates me most is helping people make sense of their experiences in a way that feels affirming and true to who they are. I deeply value the perspectives, depth, and insight that so many neurodivergent individuals bring to the world, and I approach this work with humility, curiosity, and respect. This isn’t about fixing or changing who you are—it’s about uncovering insights that can help life feel more coherent, connected, and authentic.

I take a compassionate, strengths-based approach that centers your lived experience and values who you are—not just what’s been hard. I focus on understanding how you move through the world, what has supported you, and what truly matters to you. My goal is to support you in feeling more grounded in your identity and empowered to move forward in ways that feel aligned and sustainable.
