About
Greetings! My name is Dr. C. Dion Bush. I currently reside in the great state of Illinois. I enjoy riding motorcycles, combat sports, church attendance, movies, and playing my guitar. I am passionate about personal growth and supporting others in their journey of self development. I believe compassion and kindness goes a long way, while developing the ability to press forward ultimately wins the race in much of life. My goal is to help client's develop skills to overcome self imposed, familial, and societal challenges as they arise. My goal is also to partner with you and your spouse or loved ones to find a way forward that is best for you and meets your unique goals. Everyone is unique, with their own gifts and challenges and deserves to be treated as such. If I have the privilege of sharing and contributing to you reaching your mental health and personal care goals, then mission accomplished and thank you!
My motivation for working with the neurodivergent population is simple, why wouldn't I?! Working with members of this community provides me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of the needs of this population and how they contribute to society in unique and salient ways. I believe the individuals that i have had the privilege of working with thus far have a depth and breath of personal experiences that have allowed them to have a valuable perspective that contributes to our shared understanding of human behavior and intelligence. I would like to continue this professional journey and deepen my knowledge and understanding even further.
My focus is on acknowledging and building upon the strengths of the individuals I work with in the therapeutic relationship. My approach is to lead with compassion, as each individuals experience is affirmed. With that said, I also look for areas where resilience has laid the groundwork for further personal development. Every client has discovered an approach in life that they have gained competency and possible mastery. My approach is to try to discover more of those experiences with the client and build upon them in a way that helps the client gain greater competency across additional domains of life.
