About
Hello! My name is Aaron Wallis, I live in the mountains of southern Colorado and am licensed in Colorado and Utah. I have always been a curious person who likes to know the “why” behind anything I learn. I want to understand my clients in the same way, with enthusiastic curiosity, transparency, and acceptance. I strongly believe that with a combination of good science and real compassion, every person can find a path towards self-knowledge and fulfillment. My goal is to partner with you as we explore your strengths and challenges in life. Each person is a valuable part of the spectrum of human experience and deserves to be seen, understood, and cherished for who they are as they are. I strive provide information and support that is personalized and tailored to your unique needs while avoiding stereotypes and harmful societal expectations.
I have extensive experience conducting therapy and comprehensive psychological assessments with adolescents and adults. Therapy has taught me just how challenging it can be to have a mind that works differently than others expect. Assessment has taught me that psychological science and data can be incredibly therapeutic when used to help people understand and accept themselves more fully. By diving deeply into my clients’ lives to understand their stories, I’ve realized how often neurodivergent adults are judged and misunderstood. I have also seen clients transform dramatically when someone takes the time to see them clearly and compassionately and I want to provide that depth of understanding to you too.
I am passionate about helping people discover, accept, and celebrate themselves. Many of my clients come to me with plenty of knowledge about their challenges but less understanding of their skills, strengths, and unique abilities. If all we do is focus on what is wrong, we often cannot see what is already right about ourselves. As a neurodivergent person, I know how powerfully our self-concept can shape our experiences. By listening carefully and challenging my clients to see themselves differently, together we can combat shame, improve self-esteem, and foster a positive and balanced sense of self.
