About
Hello! My name is Stacie Leffard. I am a psychologist in Pennsylvania where I have been practicing for over 15 years. I work with individuals with neurodivergence/autism spectrum disorder as well as a variety of complex medical conditions. Neuropsychological functioning is my specialty. My goal in practice is to help each person that I work with to better understand themselves in order to help use their strengths and self-advocate.
Across my career, I have watched diagnostic practices change and awareness of ASD symptoms increase. I have observed children with severe symptoms diagnosed consistently and early, leading to improved interventions and outcomes. In contrast, those who have milder symptoms and/or adults that managed to get by tend to be diagnosed later in life. My goal is to help adults understand how they think and why. Understanding oneself and having the words to express strengths and needs leads to improved support and self-acceptance.
I prioritize learning an individual's history and lived experience so that I can understand them as fully as possible. Learning how a person experiences the world and social experiences helps me to guide their next steps in their journey, whether that is obtaining additional supports, building compassion for themselves, or helping others in their life to understand.
