About

Are you tired of feeling alone while dealing with life’s lemons? Do you crave supportive connection that leaves you feeling understood, valued, and safe? Would it feel wonderful to leave a session focused entirely on your needs, at your pace, and experience a sense of relief as you transition back into your day?I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Sheila Connolly, and I’m a virtual clinician providing holistic care to clients in Colorado, Florida, and Vermont. I’ve been practicing for approximately 8 years and have a background in yoga, breathwork, somatic healing, and hypnotherapy. I incorporated many therapeutic modalities that are customized to each client. Some of the modalities that I frequently use are: CBT, DBT, IFS, Somatic Therapy, Imago Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and other trauma informed modalities.I love working with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, and compulsive behaviors. Before becoming a therapist, I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher, and I particularly enjoy supporting clients that are veterans and first responders. My therapeutic style is laid-back, direct, considerate, and compassionate. I work with a wide range of clients, from those brand new to therapy to therapists seeking support for themselves. I take great pride in my work and often find myself thinking of my clients between sessions, preparing therapeutic activities and exploring new tools that could benefit them.If you are open minded, curious, and wanting to make changes with the right tools and support, I am here and I'd love to work with you.

Education & Licensure
Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Montclair State University of Montclair, New Jersey; Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My decision to work with neurodivergent adults stems from a deep appreciation for the many ways people experience and interact with the world. Having spent years supporting others through crisis and transition, I’ve seen how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood or overlooked in traditional care. I’m passionate about creating a therapeutic space where differences are not just accepted but celebrated, where clients can feel seen, supported, and empowered to move through life on their own terms. My holistic background in yoga, somatic healing, breathwork, and hypnotherapy allows me to meet clients where they are, helping them reconnect with their bodies and inner wisdom while navigating the unique challenges and strengths that come with neurodivergence. As a neurodivergent clinician, I see you and you deserve this. We can work through it together, I've got your back.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I love the metaphor of going to the hardware store to buy milk. I don’t want my clients to conform to the hardware store and abandon what they truly desire and crave—to say, “Well, I’m here, I’ll just pick up some nails instead.” My version of a strengths-based approach is helping clients recognize when they’ve entered a store (or life circumstance), whether intentionally or unintentionally, that isn’t able to meet their needs or leave them feeling fulfilled. Together, we map out how to move from the hardware store (breaking old patterns) to the grocery store (creating systems of operating that truly serve you). We’ll use your unique strengths and gifts to help you get your needs met in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
