Hello! My name is Iyana. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I received my M.Ed in School Counseling from Bowie State University. I have experience providing school and community based therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults, helping them navigate issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, academics, peer conflict, relationships, and self-esteem. My goal is to create a safe, trusted, and nonjudgmental environment where I can work collaboratively towards achieving my client's academic and social-emotional goals.
My motivation and passion for working with autistic adults grew out of my early experiences supporting children with autism. Through that work, I saw firsthand how important it is for individuals to have understanding, affirming care at every stage of life—not just in childhood. I became a therapist to continue advocating for neurodivergent people as they navigate adulthood, honoring their unique strengths and challenges with compassion and respect.
I focus on recognizing and building on each person’s unique strengths and abilities. My goal is to create a supportive space where neurodivergent identities are respected and celebrated. I would love to help each individual feel empowered and understood as they work toward their own goals.
