About
Greetings and salutations! You’ve officially taken the first step toward choosing you—your health, your growth, and your overall wellness. And honestly? That’s no small thing. My name is Carrie Allen, a Licensed Professional Counselor and I became a therapist because I know how deeply it matters to feel seen, supported, and not alone when life feels heavy—or just plain confusing. Over the years, I’ve helped individuals navigate violence, complex trauma, eating disorders, identity struggles, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, and the kinds of life transitions that make you question everything (sometimes twice). My approach is collaborative and holistic, with equal parts compassion, curiosity, and humor. I believe growth happens in safe, affirming relationships—especially the kind where you can be honest, roll your eyes at the hard stuff, and still feel cared for. I provide virtual therapy for clients in Alabama, Florida, Missouri, and Texas, and I’m especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, military families, underdogs, misfits, those who don’t subscribe to major religions, and anyone longing for a place where they can finally exhale and just be. So, whether you’re rebuilding, rediscovering, or just trying to keep it together with a dash of humor—I’m here for it. Let’s figure it out together.
Honestly? Because the world wasn’t built for neurodivergent brains—but it should’ve been. I’ve always been drawn to working with people who see, feel, and process life a little differently. Over the years, I’ve noticed that many autistic and otherwise neurodivergent clients come to therapy not because they’re broken, but because they’ve spent a lifetime trying to fit into systems, relationships, or expectations that weren’t designed with them in mind. Specializing in this work means helping people unlearn the idea that they have to shrink themselves to be understood. It’s about creating a space where stimming, infodumping, silence, humor, or hyperfixation aren’t just accepted—they’re understood. My goal is to offer the kind of therapy that celebrates neurodivergent brilliance, honors sensory and social needs, and helps clients build a life that fits them, not the other way around.
I don’t believe in “fixing” people — I believe in reckoning with who you are and uncovering the strengths that have been there all along. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and affirming, centering curiosity over judgment and celebrating every bit of progress (even the messy kind). I’m an eclectic therapist, and my approaches include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, and a person-centered framework to support authentic growth and healing. I work from a neurodiversity- and LGBTQ+-affirming lens, helping clients build lives that feel genuine, balanced, and fully their own.
