About

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Zach Budd, call me Zach. I currently live in Houston, Texas and I’m Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas. I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward greater well-being and self-understanding. I got into this work because I know what it is like to want to understand how my mind works so I can explain it to others. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, comfortable, compassionate space where you feel truly heard and understood. I want us to be a team that helps you get better with every session. A good team learns about themselves and brings out the best in each other. Your journey is unique, and I’m committed to offering care that is as individual as you are. Let’s team up!

Education & Licensure
Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston; Bachelors in Kinesiology from University of Houston-Clear lake.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for working with autistic adults comes from my experience in living and working with neurodiverse and autistic individuals. I have seen and lived the frustration of not exactly knowing why one is different. It is a struggle to understand and communicate one’s neurodiversity to others. I know how amazing neurodiverse contributions and lives can be if they are just empowered to know themselves. I love to advocate for this community. And I believe that advocacy comes from self-knowledge. I am inspired by the strengths, perspectives, and resilience of the autistic community, and I strive to provide support that honors each person’s unique experiences. My goal is to help clients to know themselves, navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and grow in their power in ways that enhance their daily lives and relationships. Including, the relationship they have with themselves. Together, we can work toward a life where you understand yourself, you feel understood, supported, and are able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. I really enjoy celebrating the wins, the breakthroughs, and the “ah-ha” moments. I believe that each client possesses unique strengths and abilities that can be harnessed to navigate challenges and achieve personal goals. I often find that clients are more capable and stronger than they initially realize. I actively listen to their experiences and validate their feelings, creating a safe space where they can express themselves authentically. I want each client to see their own capability and help them to show that to others.
