Intro
Hi! My name is Yelina, and I am a clinical psychologist who is licensed in Florida. I completed my graduate degree at Fielding Graduate University and completed my internship/residency at the Citrus Health Network FIU Embrace Medical Center for inclusive communities. I love using my experience as an educator and psychologist to help when assessing autistic adults!
Growing up I was very close to my late aunt who was autistic. Many times, I was her only advocate without even knowing. I also had the pleasure of being an elementary school teacher year for 17 years where I worked with autistic children and advocated for their rights. I have been passionate about working with the autistic community ever since. I feel that autistic individuals are often misunderstood, and I am very excited to be a small part in changing that.
I feel comfortable with people who think differently and speak differently than me. This comfort comes from my personal experience growing up with an autistic aunt. I am committed to providing neurodiversity affirming care and seek out the strengths in my clients.
