Yelina Fernandez

My path to this work is both personal and professional. I was raised by my aunt, who played a profound role in my life and shaped how I understand and value different ways of thinking and experiencing the world. From an early age, I learned to be curious, to advocate, and to see strengths in places others might overlook. That foundation stayed with me as I spent 17 years as an educator, where I witnessed firsthand the disparities neurodivergent individuals often face, and felt a clear calling to do more. That calling led me to clinical psychology and to specializing in working with autistic and neurodiverse individuals for the past six years.

I approach my work from a neuro-affirming and strengths-based perspective. I believe every individual brings a unique set of abilities, insights, and ways of being that deserve recognition and honor. My role is to partner with you to help you understand your brain, highlight your strengths, and support you in navigating challenges in ways that feel authentic and empowering. I prioritize a highly individualized, person-centered approach, taking the time to listen closely, respect your preferences, and adapt to what you need in the moment. I bring my authentic self into sessions, while remaining attuned and responsive to you.
