Wendy Green
About
My name is Wendy Green, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York. I work with adults, supporting them through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, relationship struggles, self-esteem concerns, and women’s issues. I also work with toddlers on the Autism Spectrum. I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space where you feel heard and understood. My approach is flexible and guided by your unique needs. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Strength-based Therapy. In practice, this means we’ll work together to explore your experiences, identify unhelpful patterns, and find practical strategies that support your growth and well-being.
My desire to work with neurodivergent/autistic adults comes from my work with toddlers on the Spectrum. My work with the toddlers tends to focus on how we can help change or shape their behaviors in order to help them to blend into society's "norms". Conversely, working with the adult neurodivergent/autistic population, will allow me to help individuals toward a path of self-acceptance and empowerment, not conformity and shrinking who he/she/they are.
I have always utilized a strengths-based perspective when working with clients to help them see themselves as valuable and capable individuals. While they may be seen as different, and perhaps made to feel "less than", I will affirm each client by listening to their fears, thoughts, and feelings without judgment.
