About

Welcome! My name is Dr. Wayne Mason, and I am originally from Columbus, Ohio. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio and have dedicated my career to helping individuals better understand themselves and achieve meaningful improvements in their lives. Before entering the field of psychology, I proudly served as a combat veteran in the United States military. My military experience shaped my commitment to service, resilience, and compassion, and it continues to influence the way I approach my work with clients. I understand that every individual has a unique story, and I strive to provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and understood.

Education & Licensure
I earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychological from Seattle Pacific University in 2018. I also completed a one-year postdoctoral residency at Emory’s School of Medicine's Neurodevelopmental Exposure Clinic (ENEC) from August of 2018 through August of 2019.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, stems from a longstanding fascination with the human brain and a deep-seated compassion for underserved and disadvantaged populations. My goal is to help each client identify their unique strengths and areas of need, then collaborate in developing the resources, supports, and services necessary to maximize their potential, enhance their independence, and improve their overall quality of life.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My therapeutic approach is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment model that emphasizes the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe that by identifying and modifying maladaptive patterns of thinking, clients can develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and achieve meaningful, lasting change. I practice through a biopsychosocial framework, recognizing that psychological well-being is influenced by the dynamic interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors. By integrating CBT within a biopsychosocial model, I strive to provide comprehensive, individualized care that empowers clients to overcome challenges and reach their personal goals.
