About

Hello my name is Vonetta Jackson and I live in North Carolina, where the largest military base in the nation. I have serviced the military servicemen and families for over four years, being fully licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2021. I have worked in state psychiatric institutional facilities, family specialized therapeutic agencies, school-based systems and a medical social worker having a jurisdiction of 10 counties. I'm very familiar with the different counties across North Carolina working in them for over twenty-five years. I worked in the community for over 25 years for the state of North Carolina.

Education & Licensure
Master's in Social Work from University of NC at Pembroke and Bachelors at East Carolina University in Therapeutic Recreation.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation to work with this population is to learn more about their behaviors and customize a treatment plan based on their needs.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I prioritize based on establishing a good foundation of expectations in this therapeutic relationship between the client and myself. When establishing expectations, we discuss what results they hope to see within themselves and where they hope this relationship will mature and reach a promising destination. Understanding their limitations and commitments will eliminate assumptions. Relying on developing strengths and not concentrating but discussing on past traumatic events will move their outcome into a positive perspective.
