About

Hello and welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Vee Freeman, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) based in Memphis, Tennessee. I am passionate about creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.Have stressful life events left you feeling tired, anxious, or overwhelmed? Have you tried to make changes, but nothing seems to work? Or is your child struggling with identity, managing heavy emotions, or expressing their needs? If so, you are not alone — and you don’t have to navigate it on your own.My clinical focus includes perinatal mental health and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I am especially passionate about supporting individuals within the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, as well as teens and young adults, as they work through life transitions, identity development, and emotional experiences. I am committed to providing care that is inclusive, culturally aware, and tailored to your unique experiences and needs.I believe that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a powerful step toward growth and healing. Together, we can create a space where you feel safe to explore, process, and build the tools needed to move forward with confidence and clarity. If you feel that I may be a good fit for you or your loved one, I encourage you to reach out — I’m here to help.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My desire to work with autistic and neurodivergent clients comes from a deep commitment to creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, accepted, and not pressured to fit into expectations that were never designed for them. In my work, I often meet individuals who have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or like they have to mask parts of themselves to be accepted. That experience can be exhausting, and I believe therapy should be a place where that weight can be set down.I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients in a way that honors their unique ways of thinking, feeling, and navigating the world. Rather than focusing on changing who someone is, my approach centers on understanding their experiences, strengthening self-awareness, and building tools that support their well-being in ways that feel authentic to them. I aim to create a safe, affirming environment where clients can explore their needs, improve communication, and develop confidence in themselves without judgment.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by intentionally creating a space where clients feel safe to show up as their full, authentic selves without fear of judgment or being treated differently based on their background or experiences. I believe that each person already holds strengths within them, even in moments when they may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain. In my work, I focus on helping clients identify and reconnect with those strengths while also holding space for the challenges they’re navigating. I strive to be both supportive and honest, offering a balance of validation and gentle challenge to help clients gain new perspectives and deeper self-understanding. My approach is collaborative — we work together to explore your experiences, build effective tools, and create meaningful change in a way that feels aligned with who you are. I am committed to providing care that is inclusive, culturally aware, and affirming. My goal is for every client to feel seen, respected, and empowered as they move through their healing journey.
