About

Welcome! My name is Turhan Floyd, and I am a New Jersey-licensed psychologist based in the Princeton area. My work as a psychologist has included children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on psychological evaluations for neurodiverse individuals. My professional work is grounded in a commitment to helping individuals better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, honor their identities, and navigate their experiences with greater confidence, clarity, and self-compassion. At the heart of my work is commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and understood.

Education & Licensure
ducation & Licensure PhD in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA; Masters in Counseling Psychology Services, Lawrenceville, NJ; Bachelors in Psychology from Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

In my professional experience, I have found that many neurodiverse individuals encounter barriers in environments and systems that were not designed with their needs or differences in mind. These challenges can affect how individuals understand themselves, how others perceive them, and how readily they can assess appropriate support. Through culturally sensitive and individualized assessment practices, I strive to contribute to a more inclusive understanding of mental health and neurodevelopment—one that acknowledges individual variability, respects lived experience, and encourages meaningful accommodations and support.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I seek to understand how an individual’s experiences, strengths, challenges, and environment interact to shape their daily functioning. I also recognize the importance of considering cultural and contextual factors when interpreting assessment findings and developing recommendations. Ultimately, I aim to translate assessment results into meaningful individualized insights that can support self-awareness, inform appropriate accommodations and resources, and help individuals identify practical strategies for navigating academic, professional, interpersonal, and everyday demands. My mission is to help individuals move from uncertainty toward understanding, from self-doubt toward self-advocacy, and from simply navigating differences toward recognizing the strengths and possibilities those differences can bring.
