About

Hi, and thanks for stopping by. My name is Toni Vadala, and I’m an LCSW in the state of New York. I’ve lived in Central New York for nearly 21 years and have spent most of my adult life working with the neurodivergent community both clinically and non‑clinically. I’m also the parent of five neurodiverse children, each with their own strengths, perspectives, and gifts to share with the world. My background and lived experience shape the way I show up as a provider—warm, grounded, and deeply committed to creating a space where people feel understood and supported.

Education & Licensure
MSW from Capella University, Minneapolis, MN; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Columbia College, Columbia, MO; Minor in Psychology, focus on English and creative writing from Columbia College, Columbia, MO
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My passion for working with the neurodivergent community comes from a place of deep respect and genuine admiration. Over the years, I’ve seen how often autistic and ADHD individuals are misunderstood, overlooked, or expected to adapt to environments that don’t honor their natural ways of thinking, communicating, or processing the world. I’ve also seen the strength, insight, creativity, and resilience that neurodivergent people bring to their relationships, their work, and their communities.I chose this path because I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are—not who they’re expected to be. Neurodivergent individuals often navigate a world that wasn’t designed with their needs in mind, and my goal is to offer a supportive, affirming environment where they can explore their identity, build confidence, and develop tools that truly fit their unique strengths.Every person’s neurodivergent experience is different, and that diversity is something I deeply honor. My “why” is rooted in the belief that understanding yourself should feel empowering, not overwhelming—and that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow in a space that respects their voice, their pace, and their lived experience.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is rooted in compassion, affirmation, and a deep respect for neurodivergent ways of thinking, feeling, and communicating. I don’t focus on “fixing” challenges or forcing neurotypical expectations. Instead, I help you recognize and build upon your strengths—your patterns, your language, your sensory needs, your emotional intelligence, your creativity, your problem‑solving, your way of seeing the world.I work collaboratively, creating a judgment‑free space where you can explore communication, emotional regulation, and self‑expression without pressure to mask or conform. Together, we develop coping skills that actually work for your brain, not someone else’s idea of how you “should” function. My goal is to support you as you discover your full potential in a way that feels authentic, sustainable, and uniquely yours.
