About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Tiffany Massia, a licensed psychologist based in California. I specialize in comprehensive psychological assessment, with a focus on helping adults gain greater clarity and understanding of their neurodivergent experiences. My work is grounded in careful listening, clinical precision, and deep respect for each person’s individual story.I’m passionate about creating an evaluation space that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and affirming. Many of the individuals I work with have spent years trying to make sense of patterns in their lives, and I view assessment as an opportunity to bring meaningful clarity—not judgment. My goal is to partner with you in a way that feels supportive and grounded, helping translate your lived experiences into insights you can use moving forward.Every person’s path to self-understanding is different, and I’m committed to approaching that process with care, nuance, and genuine curiosity about what makes you uniquely you.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults is both professional and personal. As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I experienced firsthand how powerful greater clarity and accurate language can be. Understanding my own neurodivergence allowed me to approach challenges more strategically and to better recognize and use the strengths that come with thinking differently. That experience deepened my respect for the complexity of neurodivergent adults, particularly those who may have spent years adapting, masking, or questioning their own experiences without clear answers. I’m motivated to provide assessments that offer thoughtful, evidence-based clarity in a way that feels validating rather than pathologizing. My goal is to help clients make meaningful sense of their patterns, better understand both their challenges and strengths, and walk away with information that genuinely supports how they move through the world.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming, strengths-based approach by viewing assessment as a collaborative process focused on understanding the whole person—not just areas of difficulty. My goal is to carefully identify and reflect back each individual’s cognitive, emotional, and adaptive strengths alongside any challenges, so the final picture feels accurate, balanced, and genuinely useful. In my work, I pay close attention to patterns of resilience, problem-solving, creativity, persistence, and insight that often accompany neurodivergent ways of thinking. I also recognize the significant effort many adults have invested in adapting to environments that may not have fully supported them. Throughout the process, I aim to create a space that feels respectful, validating, and grounded in clinical clarity.Ultimately, I want clients to leave the assessment experience with a deeper, more self-compassionate understanding of themselves—one that highlights their capabilities and supports them in moving forward with greater confidence and self-advocacy.
