About
Hi, I'm Tia. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas, and for over 15 years I've helped people navigate anxiety, burnout, trauma, life transitions, and the moments in life that leave us questioning who we are and where we're headed. What drives me as a therapist is watching people reconnect with parts of themselves they thought they had lost or convince themselves never existed in the first place. I don't believe people are broken or need to be fixed. More often than not, they're carrying patterns, expectations, and survival strategies that once served a purpose but no longer fit the life they're trying to build. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as your authentic self, explore what is and isn't working, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
Throughout my career, I've worked with many clients who spent years feeling like they were somehow missing the manual everyone else received. They were intelligent, capable, and resourceful, yet constantly questioning themselves because the world seemed to expect them to operate in ways that didn't come naturally. I became passionate about working with autistic and neurodivergent adults because I saw how often their differences were misunderstood as deficits rather than recognized as valid ways of experiencing the world. Too many people have been taught to mask who they are in order to be accepted. I believe healing begins when people have the opportunity to better understand themselves, embrace how their minds work, and stop measuring their worth against standards that were never designed for them.
My approach starts with the belief that you are not a problem to be solved. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I help clients identify the strengths, insights, creativity, resilience, and unique perspectives they already possess. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building on the qualities that have helped them survive, adapt, and grow. I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel understood rather than judged and empowered rather than pathologized. My goal is not to help people become someone different, it's to help them better understand themselves so they can build a life that works with their strengths instead of constantly fighting against them.
