About
Hello! I appreciate you being here and considering me as part of your journey. I’m Thomas Khang, a Houston native, second-generation Asian American, and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I currently live in north central Austin and bring a background in counseling along with a deep appreciation for the unique experiences that shape each person’s story.
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and self-understanding. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and I’m honored to partner with you as you build on your strengths and move toward meaningful change and well-being.
My "why" of specialized work with autistic and neurodivergent clients is driven by a genuine belief that the world is richer because of the diverse ways people think and experience life. I am not here to "fix" — I am here to walk alongside you, creating a space where you feel truly seen and understood. I am continually inspired by the creativity, depth, and authenticity that neurodivergent individuals bring, and that inspiration fuels my commitment to this work. Together, we will honor your story, build on your strengths, and work toward a life that feels genuinely meaningful and your own.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to every session by focusing on what makes each client uniquely capable rather than what needs to be "corrected." I actively listen, validate experiences, and collaborate with clients to identify and build upon their individual strengths — whether that is a remarkable attention to detail, deep creative thinking, or a passionate curiosity about the world. I create a safe, judgment-free space where clients can show up authentically, set meaningful goals, and grow at their own pace. As someone who personally belongs to the ADHD and highly sensitive person (HSP) affinity groups, I bring a lived understanding of the neurodivergent experience — one that deepens my empathy, informs my practice, and allows me to connect with clients in a genuine and meaningful way.
