About

Hello there! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Dr. Terence Penn, a licensed clinical psychologist based in Baltimore, Maryland. I’m licensed in Maryland and have PSYPACT authorization, which allows me to provide telehealth services in most states. In my training, I specialized in helping adults manage chronic pain and other health-related concerns. Over time, I’ve developed a growing interest in neurodiversity in adults, including assessing for adult ADHD and providing social skills coaching for young adults on the autism spectrum.I take a collaborative approach to care, partnering with you to make sure you feel heard and understood. My goal is to support your self-understanding through diagnostic assessments in a way that feels empowering, affirming, and grounded in self-compassion.

Education & Licensure
Postdoctoral Fellowships in Psychology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine & Harvard Medical School; PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB); Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Alabama (UA)
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults comes from a personal connection to social and sensory challenges that I’ve worked through in my own life – challenges that often overlap with what many neurodivergent individuals experience. Because of this, I deeply resonate with the struggles that can come with navigating relationships, environments, and expectations that don’t always feel designed for you.I genuinely enjoy connecting with friends who share similar characteristics, and I value the depth, insight, and authenticity that often come with neurodivergent ways of being. I hope to help you better understand yourself, move toward your goals, and find a sense of inner peace so you can live more authentically and build friendships and relationships that truly resonate with who you are.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

In the words of Wayne Dyer, I believe a genius resides in each and every person. I truly see you as someone who came into this world with unique gifts to share. My work is grounded in the belief that you are not “deficient” or “not enough.” You are already a worthwhile person exactly as you are.I focus on recognizing and building upon your strengths. At the same time, I understand that you may be experiencing real challenges that make it harder to reach certain goals. My role is to support you in navigating those challenges while helping you reconnect with your strengths, insight, and potential.
