About
Hello! My name is Tera Langston. I currently live outside of St. Louis and am licensed in Florida, New Mexico and Illinois. My goal as a clinician is to provide you with empathetic, supportive and non-judgmental listening and to ensure that you feel understood and validated. I believe that knowledge is power and allows us to utilize our strengths to overcome obstacles and challenges in order to reach our highest potential.
My motivation for working with adults who are on the autism spectrum is rooted in my initial work involving the developmental assessment of children with neurodiversity, to include autism spectrum disorders. I witnessed first hand the profound change that often occurred following the identification of each child's unique experience, as this allowed us to focus on implementing strategies that utilized their strengths to overcome identified challenges and foster their growth. I believe that incorporating the strength, resilience and unique perspective of adults who are neurodivergent can greatly improve their daily lives and experiences.
My clinical approach prioritizes creating a positive, safe space in which clients feel supported and able to speak openly and honestly. I believe that each person is unique and that by identifying and recognizing our individual strengths and differences we can gain a greater understanding of ourselves and subsequently improve the quality of our lives.
