About
Hello and Welcome! My name is Tekeyia Bell and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Wisconsin. I’m a therapist who is deeply committed to creating spaces where people feel safe, understood, and never pathologized for who they are. My work is rooted in the belief that neurodivergence is not something to “fix,” but something to understand, support, and honor. I value collaboration, direct communication, and practical tools. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like CBT while remaining flexible, sensory-aware, and responsive to each individual’s needs. Above all, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel respected, empowered, and genuinely seen.
I’m especially passionate about working with autistic and neurodivergent adults because so many have spent years masking, adapting, or feeling misunderstood. I worked as an RBT for five years with autistic children, and that experience really shaped my understanding of neurodivergence. As I grew professionally, I started thinking about what support looks like beyond childhood. I saw how many autistic adults are navigating anxiety, burnout, masking, and identity issues without truly affirming mental health care. That gap is what motivated me to specialize. I wanted to move from focusing on behavior to focusing on emotional well-being and authentic self-understanding. What drives me as a provider is helping clients unlearn shame, reconnect with their authentic selves, and build lives that feel sustainable.
I approach my work from both a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens. Many neurodivergent adults have experienced long term invalidation or masking, so I’m mindful that anxiety or shutdown behaviors often reflect nervous system responses, not deficits. I prioritize autonomy, collaboration, and pacing, while also helping clients identify and build on their strengths. My goal is to create a space where they feel safe enough to unmask and empowered enough to thrive.
