About
Hello! I’m Dr. Taryn Walker, a licensed psychologist with more than 15 years of experience providing therapy and psychological assessment. I bring a warm, straightforward approach to evaluation, creating a space where clients can feel heard, understood, and respected.I take time to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and understand the whole person—not just a set of symptoms or diagnostic criteria. My feedback is honest, strengths-based, and collaborative, with clear recommendations that are practical and meaningful. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves and leave the evaluation with greater clarity, validation, and useful next steps.
My interest in autism evaluation has grown naturally from my clinical work. Over the years, I’ve worked with many individuals in my therapy practice who have questioned whether they may be autistic and have sought greater understanding of their experiences, relationships, communication styles, sensory needs, and ways of navigating the world. I’ve seen how meaningful it can be to have those questions taken seriously and explored thoughtfully. This has deepened my interest in providing comprehensive, affirming evaluations that help individuals gain clarity about themselves and better understand both their challenges and their strengths.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and deeply strengths-based. Rather than focusing primarily on challenges or areas of difficulty, I believe in recognizing each person’s unique strengths, perspectives, and ways of experiencing the world, and building upon those strengths. I strive to create an affirming space where clients feel understood, respected, and valued for who they are. My goal is to help each individual develop a deeper understanding of themselves, recognize the capacities they already possess, and identify practical ways to build upon those strengths as they move toward greater self-understanding.
