Welcome & Introduction

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Tamer Fawzy. I am a Licensed Psychologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based diagnostic assessments. Undergoing an evaluation can be a pivotal step toward understanding yourself or your child more deeply. I believe in creating a supportive, transparent environment where you feel heard, respected, and actively involved throughout the entire evaluation process. My goal is to deliver clear, actionable diagnostic insights that illuminate strengths, clarify challenges, and provide an accurate roadmap for future support and growth.

Assessment Philosophy

I believe that clinical questions and cognitive or behavioral concerns never exist in a vacuum; they must be understood within the broader context of an individual’s developmental history, environment, and personal goals. An accurate evaluation is more than just symptom identification or standardized scoring—it is a collaborative, evidence-based investigation designed to provide meaningful clarity. By integrating rigorous assessment tools with a holistic view of each person, I aim to provide precise differential diagnosis and individualized recommendations that empower clients, families, and referring providers to make informed decisions moving forward.

Areas of Diagnostic Specialization

• Neurodevelopmental Evaluations: Comprehensive assessment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD) across the lifespan, Learning Disorders/Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum conditions.

• Complex Differential Diagnosis: Clarifying overlapping presentations, such as distinguishing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), mood dysregulation, or trauma-related symptoms.

• Child, Adolescent, and Adult Evaluations: Diagnostic assessment of emotional, behavioral, and self-regulatory concerns (including pediatric and adolescent behavioral/executive functioning patterns).

• Actionable Treatment Planning & Recommendations: Synthesizing clinical findings into clear, tailored recommendations for educational accommodations, workplace support, and targeted interventions.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My path toward specializing in neurodiversity began with a strong clinical foundation in assessing ADHD and learning differences. Over time, seeing how deeply neurodevelopmental differences intersect with daily life naturally expanded my focus to comprehensive autism spectrum evaluations. I have always been deeply motivated by the academic, social, and personal journeys of neurodivergent individuals and their families. A thorough, compassionate assessment is often the missing piece that turns years of confusion into self-understanding. My goal is to provide diagnostic clarity that honors each person’s unique cognitive style and strengths, while providing an actionable roadmap for the educational, professional, and social environments where they live and learn.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

As an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) practitioner, one of my bedrock assumptions is that meaningful growth and self-improvement are not possible without self-acceptance first. I bring this philosophy directly into my diagnostic work by approaching every evaluation not through a deficit-based lens, but as an affirming exploration of how an individual naturally processes, learns, and engages with the world. Rather than solely cataloging challenges, I intentionally identify and highlight each client’s unique cognitive strengths, passions, and adaptive patterns. By fostering a compassionate, validating space, my goal is to help clients understand and embrace their neurodivergent identity so they can leverage their innate strengths to navigate academic, professional, and personal environments effectively.
