About
Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Obregon Madera, a licensed clinical psychologist in California with specialized training in neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults with diverse neurological, developmental, and psychological experiences. I am passionate about creating a warm and understanding space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and exploring your experiences without judgment. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, recognize the strengths you already possess, and feel supported as you navigate challenges and work toward a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you.
My passion for working neurodivergent individuals has developed over more than 20 years of supporting neurodivergent children, adults, and families. Early in my career, I became especially interested in understanding how differences in attention, executive functioning, communication, sensory experiences, and cognitive processing shape the way people experience and interact with the world. My training in neuropsychology further strengthened my appreciation for the many different ways we learn and experience the world. I value helping neurodivergent clients better understand themselves through a compassionate and affirming lens. Rather than viewing neurodivergence as something that needs to be “fixed,” I want you to feel understood, recognize your strengths, and develop strategies that honor who you are while supporting the areas of life that matter most to you.
I believe you deserve a space where you can show up as your full self without feeling that you need to mask, perform, or become someone different. I approach our work with warmth, curiosity, compassion, and genuine respect for the way you experience the world. Together, we can explore both your strengths and the areas where you may need additional support, while finding strategies that work with your brain rather than against it. I draw from evidence-based approaches. Above all, I want our relationship to feel collaborative and affirming, with your experiences, values, needs, and goals guiding the work we do together.
