About
Dr. Sydjea Green is a licensed psychologist in Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Texas with a robust background in clinical and forensic mental health services. Dr. Green's commitment to mental health stems from her desire to help individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges. Her therapeutic approach blends humanistic, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral modalities, focusing on building a strong therapeutic alliance and empowering clients toward self-improvement. With a passion for both direct care and systemic improvement, she continues to work on initiatives aimed at improving patient safety and quality of care, particularly in underserved and high-risk environments.
I chose to specialize in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients because I believe deeply in honoring diverse ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world. Through my training and personal experiences, I have seen how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood or defined by their challenges rather than their strengths. My goal is to create a therapeutic space that is affirming, respectful, and empowering, one that recognizes each person’s unique abilities while supporting their growth, self-understanding, and well-being. This work allows me to combine compassion with advocacy, helping clients feel seen, valued, and supported as they move toward their fullest potential.
My work is grounded in a strengths-based perspective that emphasizes recognizing and building upon each individual’s abilities, values, and resilience rather than focusing primarily on challenges. I approach therapy with compassion and affirmation, honoring each client’s lived experience while supporting them in identifying their inner resources and potential for growth. My commitment is to walk alongside clients as they develop insight, confidence, and skills to move toward lives that feel authentic and fulfilling.I strive to provide an inclusive and culturally responsive therapeutic space and welcome conversations about identity and lived experience. As someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD, I bring both personal insight and professional understanding to my work, which informs my empathy, reduces stigma, and strengthens my commitment to supporting clients in realizing their full potential.
