About

Hello and welcome! I am Dr. Susan Hay, a licensed psychologist in Georgia with extensive experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves and the factors that influence their experiences and well-being. I approach assessment with curiosity, compassion, and attention to each person's unique history and strengths. My goal is to provide a thoughtful and supportive evaluation experience that offers greater clarity, meaningful insight, and practical recommendations for moving forward.

Education & Licensure
Psy.D. Doctorate of Psychology from The Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University; Bachelors in Psychology from Georgia College and State University.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults grew naturally from my passion for psychological assessment and helping individuals gain a clearer understanding of themselves. I have always valued the opportunity that assessment provides to look beyond symptoms and consider the whole individual, including their history, experiences, strengths, challenges, and unique way of navigating the world. I am especially drawn to the opportunity to help adults who may have spent years wondering why certain aspects of life have felt different or challenging. Providing diagnostic clarity can be validating and help individuals better understand their strengths, identify appropriate supports, and make informed decisions about their lives. I strive to make the assessment process collaborative, respectful, and individualized so that each person feels heard and understood.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I approach each evaluation from an affirming and strengths-based perspective, recognizing that every individual brings a unique combination of strengths, abilities, experiences, and challenges. Rather than focusing solely on areas of difficulty, I strive to understand the whole person and how they experience and navigate the world. I believe the assessment process should be collaborative and respectful, providing individuals with an opportunity to feel heard and understood. My goal is to offer meaningful feedback that not only provides diagnostic clarity but also identifies strengths and practical recommendations that can support each individual's well-being and quality of life.
