About
Hello and welcome! I am so happy you are here. My name is Susan Davis and I currently live in Gainesville, FL and I am licensed in Florida. I am passionate about helping individuals on their journey of self-exploration as they work towards greater self-awareness, better self-understanding, and ultimately greater well-being. As a clinician, I beleive in creating a safe, compassionate space where you will feel accepted, supported, heard and understood. My goal is to work together with you discovering your inner strengths and resilience, as we meet life challenges. I beleive that each of us are uniquely qualified to meet the challenges our lives present but that sometimes, we may not always see the gifts that others see in us. That is why I am so excited to partner with you on your journey of self-discovery, and I am commited to offering you the individualized care and support that is unique to your needs.
My motivation for working with autistic adults stems from my experience with working with neurodivergent children and adolescents, helping them access the help available to them at home and in school. However, in my practice, I began to see many adults who may not have been identified as neurodivergent early, while in school or during childhood and that, as they navigated the challenges of adulthood, they have struggled to find their place, often through much pain and self-recrimination, many times blaming themselves for the difficulty they have faced, just trying to fit in. I have been inspired by the strengths and resilience of these unique individuals. That is why I so passionately believe in fostering a space where every individual feels valued. My goal is to help clients navigate their unique challenges, as they discover their strengths and develop their skills that will empower them and enhance their daily lives and relationships. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.
I beleive in the unique abilites of each of client to meet life challenges but we all need to be seen, understood, and encouraged. We may need help in recognizing our abilities, identifying our strengths, and learning how to use those abilities as we juggle major life goals and every day challenges. I beleive in an affirming and strengths-based approach, that every individual should feel seen, understood, and empowered. Through active listening, I create a safe space where each client can express themselves honestly, and where each client feels valued and their feelings are validated.
