About
Hello and welcome! My name is Stephanie Zeid and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. I currently reside in the Houston area, but am originally from Iowa. My background is largely based in health-related and neuropsychological assessment and therapy for individuals of all ages and walks of life. Over the years, I’ve worked with patients in a multitude of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices. Through assessment, I believe we create a partnership in which I get to help you answer questions and gain self-understanding in a way you may not have before. I love that no two assessments are alike—we get to identify your distinctive characteristics and learn what makes you uniquely you!
My desire to work with autistic or neurodivergent individuals stems from not only observing a need in this area, but also from a passion for helping individuals feel understood, empowered, and supported. Over time, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with neurodivergent individuals, and while in graduate school I helped to develop a support group for parents of children with autism. Individuals who were referred to me in private practice sometimes had questions about being neurodivergent but had been unsure whether to ask. My goal is to help you see your unique characteristics as strengths and help you feel supported and understood.
I believe each individual should have the opportunity to understand and take pride in what makes you unique. While our world is not always accommodating with individual differences, you deserve to know that you are valued and can utilize your strengths to be the person you want to be. I actively listen to your experiences and validate your feelings, creating a safe space where you can express yourself authentically.
