About

Hello! I'm Stephanie Durham (she/her), a licensed professional clinical counselor in Dayton, Ohio. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, I have been practicing since January 2018. I have worked with all ages over the past several years, focusing on neurodivergence, emotion dysregulation, life stage changes, and trauma while specializing in ADHD. I bring to therapy a collaborative, structured approach in which we work together to problem-solve, adjust thought patterns, explore relationship dynamics, and learn new coping skills to replace unhelpful habits, while appreciating each person's unique truth.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

An affirmative and strengths-based approach is essential to meeting treatment goals together. We start with what we already have and what is already working, using this as a foundation to foster positive change and growth. Our therapy is a safe space to remove the mask and be exactly who you are, no judgement included.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Throughout my career, I have watched and heard about people being told something is "wrong" with them because of their neurodivergence and this doesn't sit well with me. It is my goal to help people understand what makes them different, not wrong, and how to use these differences as super powers throughout their lives in a world that doesn't always make room for people who don't fit into the nice, neat boxes that society tries to put people.
