About
Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Stephanie Babbitt, a licensed clinical psychologist in Arizona. I have worked with individuals across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and life experiences, with much of my career focused on psychological assessment and helping people better understand themselves. I believe a thoughtful assessment can provide more than a diagnosis. It can offer clarity, validation, and a framework for understanding your experiences, strengths, and needs. My goal is to make the process feel comfortable, collaborative, and genuinely helpful.
I was drawn to working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum through my experience conducting psychological and disability evaluations. During graduate school in Idaho, I worked with people seeking disability evaluations and gained experience understanding how medical, psychological, developmental, and life circumstances can affect daily functioning. I continued this work as a postdoctoral fellow and licensed psychologist in Utah and Arizona, where I evaluated individuals with a wide range of strengths, challenges, and support needs. These experiences have shown me how often people reach adulthood having felt different or worked hard to meet expectations without fully understanding why certain things may be more difficult for them. I value the opportunity to help you make sense of your experiences and gain a clearer understanding of how your brain works. I especially appreciate that autism assessment allows us to consider the whole person, including strengths, relationships, life experiences, and support needs, rather than focusing on a single symptom or difficulty.
I approach assessment with curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for the many ways people experience and interact with the world. I focus on understanding your individual strengths, needs, experiences, and goals. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself throughout the assessment process, without feeling like there is a “right” way to answer questions or present yourself. My role is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and work with you to develop a meaningful understanding of your experiences.
