About

Hello and welcome! I'm Dr. Stacy Ryan-Pettes. The part of my work I love most is helping people find answers. Going years without understanding why certain things feel harder than they should can be frustrating, confusing, and exhausting. A thoughtful evaluation can provide clarity, explain long-standing challenges, and highlight strengths that may have gone unrecognized.I view every evaluation as a partnership. You know yourself better than anyone else, so we start with your experiences, observations, and strengths. Together, we work toward a deeper understanding of what's going on and the answers you're looking for.I am a licensed psychologist in Ohio and Texas. In addition to conducting evaluations, I provide clinical services, teach and mentor future psychologists, conduct research, and consult with professionals and organizations. These experiences help me stay current in the field and give me the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds, each with a unique story.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Clinical Psychology from Emory University; MA in Psychology from Emory University; BA in Psychology/Violence Studies from Emory University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

What keeps me passionate about this work is seeing the relief that can come when people finally have answers. I’ve watched people begin to make sense of experiences that never quite fit together before and, often, become kinder to themselves in the process.I deeply respect neurodivergent ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world. My goal is to provide a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood while gaining a clearer understanding of your strengths, challenges, and needs. Together, we can work toward greater clarity, self-acceptance, and confidence in moving forward.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My approach is grounded in the belief that every person brings strengths that deserve to be recognized and named. Much of my training is in drawing out a person’s own goals, values, and sense of what matters, so I listen first and let each client’s experience guide the conversation. My work with young people and families has also taught me to see each person in the context of their life, including the settings that have supported them and the ones that have not. I am committed to equity in care, and I want every client to leave feeling respected, capable, and affirmed in who they are.
