About
Hello, my name is Sophia Bianca, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate their personal journeys toward greater well-being, self-understanding, and emotional growth. As a clinician, I believe therapy should be a safe, compassionate, and supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. I approach my work with empathy and warmth, recognizing the courage it takes to seek support and engage in self-reflection. My goal is to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship, working alongside clients to explore their experiences, identify strengths, and develop meaningful tools for growth. I strive to meet each individual where they are, honoring their unique story while fostering insight, resilience, and positive change.
I am genuinely drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals because I deeply value authenticity, individuality, and lived experience. I believe neurodiversity is a natural and meaningful part of the human experience, not something that needs to be “fixed,” but understood and supported with compassion. My approach is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and accepted for who they are. Many neurodivergent individuals have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood or pressured to conform. I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients can show up as their true selves without judgment, masking, or fear of being “too much” or “not enough.”I chose this work because I am committed to offering genuine empathy, patience, and collaboration, honoring each person’s unique way of communicating, processing emotions, and engaging with the world. It is deeply meaningful to support autistic and neurodivergent clients in building self-understanding, self-advocacy, and confidence while celebrating their strengths and resilience.
My approach to therapy is rooted in a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming perspective, with a focus on recognizing and building upon the inherent strengths, abilities, and unique ways of thinking that autistic and neurodivergent individuals bring to the world. Rather than centering therapy on deficits or “fixing” challenges, I prioritize understanding each person’s individual experience and supporting them in ways that honor their identity and autonomy.I believe that autistic and neurodivergent individuals thrive when they feel accepted, validated, and affirmed, not pressured to mask or conform to neurotypical expectations. My work is grounded in compassion, affirmation, and respect, with the goal of fostering self-understanding, self-advocacy, and confidence. I bring an affirming, strengths-based approach into my work by creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic space, adapting communication styles to individual needs, honoring sensory and emotional differences, and consistently highlighting strengths, progress, and resilience. I support clients in reframing challenges as areas where additional tools or accommodations may be helpful, while reinforcing that they are already whole, capable, and worthy. My commitment is to walk alongside autistic and neurodivergent individuals as they work toward realizing their full potential on their own terms.
