About

Hi, I’m Shelby and I’m excited about the possibility of working with you! I'm a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in Omaha, Nebraska. Throughout most of my career, I've had the privilege of working with autistic individuals and their families, supporting them in building meaningful, fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy is rooted in behavioral science and guided by your personal values. I believe our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are shaped by our experiences and environments around us, and that meaningful growth comes from understanding these patterns rather than judging them. Together, we'll explore what is influencing your behavior, identify what matters most to you, and develop practical strategies that help you move toward the life you want to live.

Education & Licensure
Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Nebraska Medical Center; Bachelors in Psychology- Neuroscience & Behavior from the University of Nebraska-Omaha
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My passion for working with neurodivergent individuals is both professional and personal. After spending much of my career supporting autistic individuals and their families, I also came to better understand my own neurodivergence. Receiving that understanding, and engaging in my own therapy, significantly improved my quality of life. It gave me a framework for understanding myself with greater compassion, recognizing my strengths, and building a life that aligns with my values instead of trying to meet expectations that didn't fit who I am. My goal is to provide a space where you feel accepted, respected, and supported as your authentic self while developing tools that help you thrive in the ways that matter most to you.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take a collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to treatment. Rather than simply focusing on symptom reduction, I help clients build psychological flexibility, strengthen coping skills, and make intentional choices that align with their values even when life feels difficult. My goal is to help you develop skills that are effective not only in therapy, but also in your everyday life.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, burnout, relationship challenges, or neurodivergence, I strive to create a supportive space where you feel understood and empowered. I believe every person already possesses strengths that can be built upon, and I consider it a privilege to partner with you in creating meaningful, sustainable change.
