Hello. My same is Sarah Groark. I currently live in Denver, Colorado. I recently moved here from Brooklyn, NY. I am licensed in Colorado, New York, and New Mexico as well as PsyPact licensed. I am an experienced therapist with an extensive background working across the lifespan. My experiences span school, home, and hospital settings. Moreover, I have worked with a wide range of developmental disabilities (i.e., learning disability, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder). My focus when working with any client is to understand what brings them to seek out support, and how I can best partner with them to meet their individual goals.
My motivation for working with autistic adults stems from my extensive history of working with individuals who are neurodiverse. I currently also provide assessments for children with autism and many of the parents have expressed coming to the realization that they too may be neurodiverse after going through the evaluation process with their child. It has been difficult to find clinics to refer them to. I see a significant gap in the available resources and am excited to be able to provide an avenue for adults to get the support they need in a way that is also easily accessible to them.
In my work, I strive to understand the whole person. It is essential to understand both the strengths and challenges that we each have. Understanding what someone does well or where they are most successful provides essential information. I work to build a strong working alliance with the every client. It is important to me that they feel they have gotten support that provides new insight and, more importantly, next steps in reaching their goals.
