About

Hi and thank you for visiting my profile! I’m Dr. Sam Savite, a licensed clinical psychologist based primarily in California, but also licensed in Iowa. I am proud to provide neuroaffirming care by the way of Autism Spectrum evaluations for adults, with a focus on helping clients better understand themselves in a compassionate, strengths-based way. I like to think of my approach as collaborative, respectful, and centered on your lived experience. Most importantly, I aim to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the evaluation process. I’ve had the privilege of working with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan and in a variety of clinical settings, and I’m passionate about helping individuals gain further clarity and self-understanding.

Education & Licensure
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

Over the course of my career, I’ve seen the significant challenges that going without an accurate diagnosis can have on a person’s self-understanding, access to support, and overall psychological well-being. This has strengthened my passion for empowering the neurodivergent community and helping reduce stigma. I choose to do this work because I believe that accurate, affirming assessment can be a meaningful step toward clarity, self-acceptance, and connection to helpful resources.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

As your clinician, I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach by recognizing that each person’s neurodivergent experience is unique—no two individuals look exactly alike. In assessment, I focus not only on areas of difficulty, but also on identifying and honoring each client’s strengths, values, and lived experiences. I believe that understanding neurodivergence through a compassionate and individualized lens can help normalize clients’ experiences and support greater self-acceptance.

As someone who is neurodivergent and previously lived with undiagnosed ADHD for many years, I understand how meaningful it can be to feel truly seen and understood. My hope is to provide safe and genuine care so that fewer people have to go years without clarity, validation, and support.
