Intro

Hello! My name is Sam and I am a mental health counselor, licensed in Tennessee and Florida. I have worked in a variety of settings and addressed a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, major life stressors, and significant life changes. I utilize a strengths-based and client-centered approach to therapy, while recognizing the diverse strengths and barriers faced within the neurodivergent community.

What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

Throughout my career I have recognized barriers between mental health providers and the neurodivergent community, including a lack of accessibility, and insufficient awareness and understanding of the neurodivergent mind. This has guided me to focus my skills on providing a safe therapeutic environment that fosters accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I feel motivated to continue working in the neurodivergent community with the role of helping clients unravel any stigma or neurotypical expectations they have been living with. My goal for each client is to individualize their care to bring out their strengths and celebrate their identity.
