About

Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Sally Riggs. I currently live in Houston, Texas, although I grew up in the UK, and previously lived in Philadelphia and New York. I am passionate about helping adults gain a better understanding of themselves through comprehensive autism assessments. As a psychologist, I believe in providing a clear, respectful, and structured assessment process. My goal is to understand your experiences through a comprehensive evaluation and provide an accurate assessment based on current clinical evidence. Every person's experiences are unique, and I am committed to conducting an individualized assessment that is thorough, objective, and tailored to you.

Education & Licensure
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London, UK; Bachelors in Experimental Psychology from University of Oxford, UK
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for specializing in autism assessment comes from a genuine interest in understanding the complexity of human behavior and experience. Throughout my career, I have been drawn to careful diagnostic assessment and have always enjoyed the process of piecing together information to develop an accurate clinical understanding. I am naturally detail-oriented and enjoy identifying subtle patterns that others may overlook, allowing me to build a comprehensive picture of each individual's unique presentation. I find it rewarding to help people gain greater clarity and understanding of themselves through a thorough, evidence-based assessment.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I believe a comprehensive autism assessment should provide a balanced understanding of the individual. While my role is to carefully evaluate whether someone meets diagnostic criteria using current clinical evidence, I also believe it is important to recognize each person's strengths, abilities, and unique way of experiencing the world. I strive to provide an individualized assessment that avoids stereotypes and reflects the whole person, not just a diagnosis.
