About

Hi! My name is Rose. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Ohio. I am passionate about helping people work on challenges that may occur across the lifespan. I enjoy talking to people about life and can't wait to hear your story. I believe in creating an inclusive space where my clients can disclose any and all emotions and be themselves to get to he heart of the matter. I specifically have a special place in my heart for providing excellent care for neurodivergent people who may require more support using evidenced based treatment methods and emotion focused therapy. I want to be a support for you, whether that be within relationships or with inner work where you might benefit from clinical feedback. Together we can help foster change and start the process of a building hope.

Treatment Approach

My answer might sound typical but I have several people in my family that have neurodivergence that has impacted our lives in a major way. We were members of a generation that missed diagnosis at pivotal developmental ages within the public and private schools. I also was diagnosed with attention deficit late in college. Needless to say, having a late diagnosis created tension and mixed feelings. Over time, after coming to an acceptance that I sometimes still grapple with, I adapted and found ways that neurodivergence can actually be really cool and make it work for you. When someone says a client is neurodivergent, or I hear that word brought up in another conversation, I immediately think, "that's actually really cool". A message I tell myself and my clients is "love your mind, love yourself, gain the deficit back".  That's not to say that self-acceptance will solve all problems, but it sure affects the journey with an attitude that embraces change.

What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I LOVE this question.  I believe everyone's uniqueness is a strength and over the course of time, as a therapist builds trust with their clients, a person begins to show their insights, things they care about, and unique traits that make them unlike anyone else. I use my skills to guide discussion toward the center that I am for my client. I believe in them and the sessions should reflect my effort to empower them in any capacity. Sometimes that may include assisting a client to challenge themselves to problem solve for themselves using skills learned in sessions and between. I only know how to be an encourager. Life will always have adversity but with the right mindset, there's no limit on what a person may achieve.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?
