About

I’m Dr. Stephan, a neuropsychologist and Board-Certified Medical Psychologist with extensive experience evaluating adults with complex cognitive, psychological, and neurological questions. I am especially interested in how you think, process information, experience emotions, and relate to the world around you. I see our meetings as an opportunity to understand you as a whole person—not simply through a diagnosis or test scores. My goal is for you to leave our sessions with greater clarity about how you uniquely experience the world and with a deeper understanding of both your strengths and challenges. Together, we will translate that understanding into insights that are genuinely useful in your life.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with neurodivergent adults grows naturally from my life experiences in neuropsychology. I have a longstanding interest in the different ways people think, deal with information, communicate, and experience the world. You may have spent years feeling different from others, working harder to navigate certain situations, developing ways to adapt or fit in, or simply wondering why some experiences seem different for you. I want to help you make sense of those patterns within the context of your whole life, including the strengths and abilities that may have helped you adapt along the way. Whether an autism diagnosis provides part of that explanation or not, I want your assessment to leave you with a clearer and more meaningful understanding of yourself.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I approach our work with the conviction that your talents are just as important as where you might like support. I listen carefully to your perspectives, your passions, and your experiences, and consider them alongside your developmental history and assessment findings. Rather than allowing a diagnosis or test score to define you, I want us to develop a fuller picture of how you think, communicate, form relationships, manage demands, and navigate your everyday life. My goal is for you to feel respected and understood throughout the process and to leave with practical insights you can use to build on what you already do well, better understand your needs, and make choices that fit who you are.
