About
Hello and welcome! My name is Becky Bolen. I'm a therapist who lives and works in Georgia. I believe that therapy works best when it feels real, human, and tailored to you. I show up as my authentic self in the therapy room, and I invite you to do the same. You don’t have to filter, mask, or shrink parts of who you are here. Your full self is welcome!I am proudly neurodivergent-affirming and approach therapy with deep respect for the many ways people experience and move through the world. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of healing. Instead, I adapt my approach to fit your needs, your goals, your identity, and your lived experience. My style is warm, supportive, and grounded in genuine care, but I’m also a straight shooter. I’ll meet you with honesty, compassion, and directness, helping you navigate challenges while also gently challenging patterns that may be holding you back.Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood, without fear of judgment or invalidation. Therapy with me is a collaborative process, where your voice matters and your experience is honored every step of the way.
My motivation for working with autistic adults is personal and professional. It's difficult and exhausting to be a square peg in a round hole. This can leave you feeling wrong or "off". You might find yourself living a life that isn't really yours. Many of the clients I support have spent years trying to fit into systems that weren’t built with them in mind, often leading to burnout, self-doubt, and disconnection from their own needs. My goal is to help my clients find sustainable ways to live with more ease, joy, and meaning, without constantly pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion. We all deserve a life that feels aligned, not one that we're just surviving.
I am naturally a story-seeker. And if you don't even know where to begin when telling your story, don't worry! I'm here to guide that process every step of the way. I’m deeply interested in your stories, your passions, and your special interests. These aren’t things to minimize or “work around”. They’re meaningful parts of who you are, and often sources of insight, connection, and strength.I see it as a true privilege when someone allows me into their world. Being invited to understand your perspective and to engage with you in that context is something I hold with care and respect. Therapy, to me, is not about changing who you are. It’s about honoring your experience while supporting you in building a life that feels authentic and sustainable.
