About

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Rachel Ochieng, and I am a licensed therapist in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive, and authentic space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and discover their inner strengths while working toward their personal goals.

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet your unique needs and experiences. While I incorporate various approaches, I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be an effective tool in helping clients explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

My goal is to walk alongside you, providing support and encouragement as you work toward healing, growth, and overall well-being. I look forward to connecting with you.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I was drawn to specializing in work with autistic adults and neurodivergent individuals because I have witnessed the strength and resilience it takes to navigate a world that does not always understand or fully recognize the gifts they bring. I deeply admire the courage, self-advocacy, and authenticity that many autistic and neurodivergent individuals demonstrate while continuing to show up for themselves. My motivation is rooted in creating a safe, affirming space where you feel valued, empowered, respected, and truly seen for who you are. I believe therapy should honor each person’s unique experiences, strengths, and ways of engaging with the world while supporting them in building confidence, self-understanding, and meaningful connections.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strength-based approach by honoring your lived experience, strengths, and individuality. I believe you are the experts of your own experiences, and I strive to create a safe space where you feel respected, valued, and understood. I support you by focusing on self-acceptance, empowerment, self-advocacy, and building skills that align with your goals while embracing who you are.
