About

Hey there and thank you for looking at my bio! My name is Dr. Rachel Gingold and I hope to become a resource for you! I have been a licensed psychologist for 20 years in New Jersey and New York, and have the ability to perform interjurisdictional telepsychology through PSYPACT/APIT. I have had an unusual professional background in that I began my training in developmental assessments in 1991-1992. However, I moved on to work clinically with teens and their families in Boston, and even did my Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Couples and Family Therapy trainings at both Harvard training hospitals! However, I thought it was really important to understand typical development for teenagers becoming young adults so I moved to NYC and focused my doctoral work on what the contextual factors are needed to develop a healthy and resilient identity. After working in various settings as an administrator, researcher, program developer, and clinician; I finally settled down and opened a private practice in NJ helping teens, young adults, adults and their families 20 years ago. I am extremely passionate about understanding each person I work with so I can individualize their care and help them in feeling empowered to achieve their life goals!

Education & Licensure
PhD in Developmental Psychology from Yeshiva University in the Bronx, NY; MA in Developmental Psychology from Yeshiva University in the Bronx, NY; MS in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

have always been an activist in my heart. I also believe strongly it is essential to meet people where they are, so they feel supported in their self-actualizing process of becoming the best version of themselves. I believe in listening closely to each person, and understanding how people have been impacted by their experiences so they feel heard and respected.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I am so honored to be considered part of the Prosper Health clinical team because I believe strongly that neurodivergent people have been largely misunderstood for many years. My professional life has become highly focused on helping neurotypical people understand what has been misunderstood within the neurodivergent community for far too many years. I ultimately want to help people accept and appreciate all of their nuances and complexities so they ultimately feel good living in their own skin!
