About
Hi, welcome! I’m Oren Shibi, a licensed clinical psychologist in Florida with more than a decade of experience working with college students, emerging adults, and adults in university counseling and private practice settings. I have also served as a lead assessment coordinator, overseeing psychological assessment services, supervising doctoral trainees, and developing and improving assessment practices. I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves and the challenges they may be experiencing, and I strive to provide care that is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I believe that meaningful assessment goes beyond identifying a diagnosis—it should help you understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and identify a path forward. What drives me most as a clinician is the opportunity to make a positive impact on each person’s life journey, helping them gain clarity, feel understood, and move forward with greater confidence.
My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from my belief that understanding how a person thinks, learns, communicates, and experiences the world can be incredibly meaningful. Throughout my work in psychological assessment, I have seen how having the right framework for understanding oneself can bring clarity, validation, and often a sense of relief. I’m particularly drawn to working with adolescents and adults who may have spent years feeling different, misunderstood, or unsure of why certain aspects of life have been more challenging for them. I find it incredibly rewarding to help people gain a clearer understanding of themselves and recognize that there is nothing inherently wrong with experiencing the world differently.
I bring an affirming, strengths-based approach by focusing on understanding the whole person rather than defining someone by a diagnosis or perceived challenges. I believe every individual has unique strengths, perspectives, and ways of experiencing the world, and my role is to help clients recognize and build upon those strengths. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can be themselves, feel heard, and develop a greater sense of self-acceptance. I particularly enjoy empowering clients to embrace who they are, advocate for their needs, and encourage the important people in their lives to appreciate and accept them as they are. Ultimately, my goal is for clients to leave an evaluation with greater self-understanding, confidence, and a stronger sense of their own potential.
