About
Hi, and welcome! My name is Nina Miller. I currently live in Manhattan and am licensed in New York. I’m passionate about helping individuals come to know and understand themselves better. It has always been important to me to decrease stigma associated with differences and validate individuals’ lived experiences. As a clinical psychologist in practice for more than 28 years, I believe in creating a compassionate, safe space for you to be heard on your journey toward greater well-being and fulfillment.
My motivation for working with autistic adults stems from a deep respect for diverse traits and identities, and a passion for providing a space where every individual feels valued and seen. Each person's unique strengths, perspectives and experiences matter. A need for support, and your seeking a comprehensive assessment, coexists with your resilience. My commitment is to provide a space where you can feel heard and trusted. I bring curiosity to the assessment process and invite you to as well. Through a collaborative and holistic assessment, we can land on next steps so that you feel supported and able to achieve personal goals.
I see assessment as an important opportunity for you to feel valued and welcomed. I actively listen and my approach is affirming, for example, I may reframe your own observations through a strengths-based lens. I also validate feelings and believe that distress often emerges from navigating environments not designed for all of us. I strive to create a space where you can express yourself authentically. With the principle of ongoing growth front of mind, practical recommendations that prioritize and harness your unique strengths are considered together.
